Novosibirsk

Large indoor food market with much activity - such a contrast to the shortages and queues of the communist era.

The Novosibirsk Opera House has the largest stage of any in Russia. We saw a very impressive performance here of Tschaikovsky's The Queen of Hearts.

There are still some statues of Lenin but none of Stalin. Lenin would not be pleased with the revival of religion and the renovating of churches that is going on across the country.
